History
The Harbord Harlequins were born over a BBQ and a few beers when Graeme Hodge, Geoff Waterworth, and Michael Harradine saw a need for a local rugby team. With two local schools and over 1,000 kids in the 5-12 age range, they decided to start the club. The Manly Marlins provided start-up funding, while local supporters helped with merchandise and promotion. The club adopted colors from local surf clubs and schools, and a motto inspired by London’s Harlequins, “When we play, we play with style!”
Home ground
The Harbord Harlequins Home Ground is Denzil Joyce Oval on Abbott Road, North Curl Curl, NSW 2099. Matches are also played on two adjacent ovals, Reub Hudson Oval and Old Reub Hudson Oval.
